The 2012 Ride will be on 15th April, it is just 5 days later than last year which was so successful. One of the key elements is the good weather, not only for the riders but also for all the stewards. Preparing for the ride is a marathon task with over 40 jumps to be built, the route planned and arrowed, together with all the preparation in the start and finish field. Having good weather to prepare for the ride and on the ride day is so important for attracting the riders, and stewards.

Our land owners are an enthusiastic bunch, many of them riding on the Ride or being involved with horses, they understand the buzz of riding across 12 miles of good jumping ground and the huge benefits that come from the Ride to help our community.

Our sponsors whose names can be found on the Tytherton Ride website help with our fixed costs so that all the money raised on the day goes to good causes. The website last year had over 2000 hits primarily from local people. As a small business this may just be the place to put your name for as little as £50. Please contact the Chairman (07770 541 458) should you be interested.

Thank you all for your help and co-operation. We all look forward to 2012, as our Ride is just one small event in one of the most exciting years of our lives as the Olympics comes to London. We hope to welcome back everyone who came last year with as many of your friends as possible.

Ian James Chairman

2011 Ride! Tytherton  Fun Ride Raises £5000 for Charity

The Tytherton Fun Ride raised over £5000 for local charities in 2011 . 250 riders enjoyed bright sunshine and warm weather traversing the Wiltshire countryside in the Parish of Bremhill. The riders had a choice of forty cross country jumps on the two rides of 6 and 12 miles across farmland.

The local charities to benefit include churches, village halls, and the Wiltshire Air Ambulance. The riders donated £200 at the end of the ride to the Help for Heroes fund.

The Tytherton Ride Chairman Ian James said “The Ride was a great success and thanks must go to those in the Parish of Bremhill who give so much of their time to make this one of the best fun rides”.
